“They must find it difficult….
Those who have taken authority as the truth,
rather than truth as the authority.”

My brother came across this movie title somewhere and decided to download and watch it. He then gave me a copy so I can see for myself – he knows that I’m a huge fan of things like this… religion and faith especially the arguments.
I’ll be honest, I didn’t even finish part 1 of this documentary style movie that consisted of inserts from video libraries, some cartoons and a whole lot of historical images made appealing through dimensional animation. But it IS interesting and maybe one day when I find the time when I’m wide awake, I’ll get to finish it. What I’ve seen so far, to certain level, is mind boggling and that’s why I”m writing this entry in my blog.
The movie, from what I’ve seen so far, is a good attempt to undermine religion – especially Christianity. The documentary style approach shows strong and sound arguments to dispprove the actual existence of Christ and many many stories that were written in the Bible – even the end of the world.
The tone of the narrator is not something to look forward to. That’s probably one of the reasons why I haven’t finished the movie – I usually find time to watch dvds when I’m about to sleep and this guy can really put you to sleep. But I like the lazy condescending tone when he talks about the “famous” lines we normally here from religious fanatics. You’ll also notice a change in his voice when he wants to stress certain points.
I’m not a huge fan of history so the “facts” mentioned in the movie/documentary is something that I can’t confirm immediately in my head. But you do get the impression that a lot of research and bridging things together took place.
This will defnitely test your faith and probably help you discover yourself – whether you are a strong believer of faith or easily swayed by what we call facts. Think Astrology – it plays a big role in Zeitgeist. Go check it out! I recommend you watch it with friends OR with older (senior citizen stubborn type) family members might be an interesting experience. Prepare for a long discussion after the whole thing is over so make sure you have enough booze and smokes.
