It’s pure evil. If you love living on the edge then head on to Mamou’s at Serendra, the Fort. This is serious food for serious foodies. Hahaha. I wasn’t able to finish it. I tried. Seriously. Food looks like it was photoshoped.

Trying out the breakfast menu of Figaro at High Street. I ordered the classic corned beef and my wife got bacon and scrambled eggs. My corned beef wasn’t so special but I enjoyed the side of tomatoes and stuff, I think it was a salsa of some sort. Now the scrambled eggs, that was a treat!

Anyway, for almost 200 bucks per order, doesn’t compute well for my everyday breakfast in terms of serving ratio and price. But every now and then should be fine.

First of all, I’m not a dessert person but I do know my chocolate.

Anyway, honest opinion on this chocolata, chocolate layered cake with ganache, its good but not great and what’s unfortunate and its probably not intentional is that it had a metal after taste. From the tray perhaps? Or my fork? Eeek.

I have yet to try the other cakes. Probably good. I dunno.

They’re located at the side of burgos circle, taguig. Let me know what we should try next.

Last week we tried out this new ramen place at Piazza, Taguig called the Ramen Bar. We had the spicy karaage ramen. Its spicy shoyu ramen topped with boneless chicken.

For 280 pesos the serving was quite generous.  I would still go for yamazaki beside makati cinema square but this ramen could still satisfy the craving.

The noodles are cut and I’m not sure if that’s a good thing coz I enjoy slurping down long noodles. Hehe but that’s just me.

We also tried out the steamwd gyoza, its not on their menu so just ask for it. Its good but it breaks apart easily.

Anyway, its a good ramen fix for people in taguig. Til mu next ramen adventure this is big monster signing off.

It’s ginormous! One big chunk of meat. All meat and probably some finely chopped onions.

I like it coz it feels like home. Big serving, lotsa meat.  I wish they gave me more gravy. Didn’t bother to ask.

Anyway, it’s 275 pesos. A bit pricey.

Anyway, here’s a really cheap and affordable place to just get passed that churros craving.  One can argue that this is not the best or not even authentic and I won’t disagree a whole lot BUT for Php35 – its ok!

One order gets you 5 mini churros rings and a chocolate dip – all for 35 bucks.  The chocolate tastes like your old school ricoa goya chocolate – big hit for kids.  Its too sweet but works great with the churros which is a bit salty if you ask me – use your imagination.  Bottom line, for  the price – I wouldn’t mind having this as a snack.

They also have other flavors and I might try their ice blends next time.

If you’re planning to order the caesar salad and just salad for your meal – you should order the “to share” one because the single order, well, its not much if you ask me.   But the dressing was good and tasty.

Here are some shots of my Arroz ala Cubana.  It tasted real good and I wish I had more.  I remember when I first fell in love with this dish in the canteen of CSA when I was still in grade school.  It was served with fried eggs and fried bananas.  The bacon was a bonus – I think.  For those of you who have no idea what Arroz ala cubana is – its groud beef or pork cooked with raisins and some tomato sauce and spices.  I tried cooking one yesterday and I’ll post that later.

Most of the items on their menu range from 150 to 300 bucks.  For dessert, New York Cheesecake! Yummy! Just right.

Conti’s first opened their doors in BF homes Paranaque, its sad that I lived for more than 20 years in BF Homes but was not able to try it out.  Ha ha ha.  But that’s ok.

I heard that their pasta is really good so I’m planning to try that out next.  Looking at their menu, I think its cheaper if you order the family size and just share.  For example, Angel Hair Puttanesca is 160 bucks a la carte, but if you order the family size good for 6-8 persons, its only around Php 340.  Amazing right?

Anyway, they have tons more of dishes that you can choose from.  You can order family size, take outs, frozen foods, baked goodes, and set menus.
