Yep, I just got this email from Nuffnang just like the other few thousand bloggers and subscribers to Munchpunch.  I love twister fries so it’s worth posting

I wonder if twister fries dipped in plain vanilla sundae will work but with gravy.. hmmmm…

Prices are quite affordable compared to other Japanese Fast Food chains out there. Php150 bucks will do for a decent and complete meal.

We ordered the beef gyudon, yakisoba, and chicken tepanyaki – all of which hit the mark for me. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that its the best I’ve tasted – I’m simply saying that this goes for a decent japanese fast food meal. Expectations were met and they were all really tasty. Just one comment on the Yakisoba, I’m not an expert on japanese cuisine but the noodles are a bit off because its not as thick as what I’m used to and the flavor playfully touches on the domain of our local pancit canton – which could be what they were aiming for. Who knows.

In one of my earlier posts about Sumo Sam, I got a “hate” comment from a glorified fan of that establishment. The comment probably came from a “poser” convinced that he/she lives in a world where they are the authority – Hahaha – that’s just sad. But anyway, the reason why I’m mentioning it here is because it got me thinking whether my taste was indeed engineered to appreciate low end fast food types… interestingly, I’d have to agree. I do enjoy the cheap food trips Still, that doesn’t mean that I don’t enjoy sophisticated flavors that come with a hefty price tag.

This post is hot.. so here’s a few more pics.  This time from their branch in Ayala… service was ok tho.. line was way too long.

I remembered the first time we went to Gerry’s way back when it still had a big place along Jupiter.  We went there as an army of alcoholics to check out this new place that everyone was talking about.  We were there for the feel of the place and for the ice cold beer.  We ordered the sizzling squid for the sole purpose of pulutan (beer match).  We ended up ordering rice and having a hefty meal sharing one order.  Those were the days.

Anyway, they have a new item on the menu.  The Chili Cheese Sticks – an interesting concept and that’s why I’m posting it here.  Its a true Filipino twist on your typical cheese sticks.  I sort of enjoyed it – it was new to my taste.  And I love the green chilies.  But I have to warn you, its not for everyone.  Don’t be afraid, its not that hot / spicy – it won’t numb your tongue and mess up the night for you.  Its actually (in my opinion) an exciting new thing to try but only as a side dish.  You still have to order the sisig and in my world a must have and try is the tinomok.

They also have “The Ridiculous Challenge!” – here’s how it goes: Order a Ridiculous Burger (3 big burger patties in one great burger). Let the counter know that you are up for the challenge. Start chomping on this ridiculous burger and finish it in less than 5 mins. EASY! Run back to the counter and let them know – YOU GET A FULL REFUND! 200 bucks back in your pocket. I’d use it to order one more. Ha ha ha.

I didn’t have a camera by my side so I just took home a flyer and here’s a picture of this glorious burger monstrosity.

I tried out there Cheese and Garlic burger which set me back 99 bucks – but it was worth it It was huge, it came with an oatmeal bun and you can really savor that great grilled flavor. And of course, whenever I try a new burger place – I always try out their spaghetti. Don’t ask me why – I just think its a good benchmark. That’s around 70 bucks and it did the trick for me – reminded me of childhood. Its like that home cooked spaghetti I used to order back in grade school (CSA).

They also have shakes – which will probably be in my list when I go back there. They have a good variety which includes potato wedges, onion rings, sloppy joes, hotdog on a bun and many more!

Before I forget, the Ridiculous Challenge – if you succeed, gets your picture up on their board. We’re planning a comeback for that coz we weren’t that hungry and that means our chances are slim. But I was able to finish my burger and spaghetti in less than 5 mins – with casual conversation. Its not gonna be a problem. Mu-wah-ha-ha-ha.

They’re located along the side street surrounding A.Venue Mall – newest addition in Makati Ave. Exact Address is A Venue Mall, B. Valdez St corner Makati Ave. Its quite small with tables just enough for your burger and shakes. The kitchen took up much of the space – but no worries, I’m sure everyone would want to go for a walk after the meal.

Feast your eyes on this one! I placed a pack of cigarettes so you have a reference on the size. We ordered a 20″ Pizza Niro (I think). And they have a 30″ one – can’t wait to come up with an excuse to order that one.

Its around 600 bucks, as far as I remember. The 30″ pizzas will cost around a thousand pesos. Sweet deal if you ask me. You can actually role it up! Crust is just right – just the way I like it.
