This little monster is called the longga pizza. You can tell that the crust is hand made and it was delish!

First of all, Im a huge fan. Been eating there since Bf pa lang and also sa may lasalle. I also got excited when I heard that a branch was about to open in makati, near malugay.

I tried it out today and am still a fan of the tapsilog and pares. Sarap! But when I asked for chilli oil, buti na lang I watched where the waiter got it. From a pile of dirty dishes, the waiter got a bowl and poured the contents to a new saucer and served it to us. Tsk tsk. Tumayo balahibo ko and of course I freaked out, stood up and verified that indeed it was from a pile of dirty dishes.

I’m pretty sure that this is not how you really do things coz I’ve been enjoying your food for years and the chilli oil was normally on the table already.

I do appreciate the fact that my concerns were addressed immediately (i hope) when i called the head office.

Thanks and good luck. From now on, I think I’ll just grab a take out and use my own chilli oil coz I’m sure I’ll still crave for that tapsilog one day.

Twister Fries @ McDonald's

Yep, I just got this email from Nuffnang just like the other few thousand bloggers and subscribers to Munchpunch.  I love twister fries so it’s worth posting

I wonder if twister fries dipped in plain vanilla sundae will work but with gravy.. hmmmm…

Aha! Singaporean food in Philippines   I don’t frequent the Ortigas area or any other location outside of Makati (except paranaque) simply because I have poor sense of direction.  Yes ladies, I am the 1 percent of the male population who will admit that I’m not good with directions and I don’t mind asking for directions.  We went to SM Megamall last week because wifey wanted to check out forever 21.  Her sister even flew in from Davao to check out that store.  It’s a girl thing so I won’t go into details.  Anyway, the trip was fun for me because I get to try the Orchard Road at SM Megamall Bridgeway (I think).  I’m a big fan of hawker centers in Singapore because the idea of choosing from a variety of cuisines like chinese, malay, thai, etc. excites me.  The Orchard Road restaurant at Megamall is not a hawker center – it’s more like the foodcourts of Singapore but that’s cool too.  Ok, nuff of the boring intros – let’s jump right in to the food.

You can watch the chef's cook. The old guy looks authentic Singaporean.

645 for 3 dishes, extra rice, drinks and extra malaysian curry sauce. For 50 bucks, you should order that extra curry - it's really good. Come to think of it, it's the only dish that I enjoyed. Ha ha ha

Singaporean Dude Cooking - Bare hands so it tastes better (Ha ha ha)

Hookien Mee. They didn't do justice to the dish. This is an amazing dish in Singapore - sarap sobra. This one.. not too much so don't get discouraged by this one. The real thing is Yummyiah!

For 135 bucks you get 4 short Satay beef. It's decent.

Ok, let me wrap this up and justify why I posted this entry even if I don’t have much to say about these dishes.

2. You have to try the Malaysian Curry – even as an extra order.  It’s only 50 pesos!  It saved our meal.  So good!

Charlie's Dark Angus Burger

Now this is what a burger should be all about!  Check it out – this is a must.  Charlie’s dark angus burger is around 195 bucks served with cheese and fat fries.  Yummy!

I heard about Charlie’s a while back from peeps up north but never got the chance to try it out… but all that has changed.  I’m now a believer!  This is one REALLY good burger.   Comes next to San Francisco burger of National Sports Grill in my book.

I hope they open one up in Makati.  Oh and by the way, they sell imported beer and you can have your car washed while you eat.  Pretty cool.

We ordered Chapchae (or was it japchae? let me know) glass noodles and bibimbap – yum yum.  The one thing that striked me the most was the rock bowl.  I’m not sure what it was called exactly but it definitely kept my food hot.  I was already done eating and the bowl was still hot!  Amazing!  Imagine serving our very own sisig on this hot rock plate… oooh.

Does it taste good?  Oh hell yeah.

tapsilog

For those who don’t know what tapsilog, longsilog, all silogs mean – silog is short for sinangag at itlog. You can pretty much add any of the first 1 or 2 syllables of the dish that you want to pair it with and that’s it. For example: Tapa, sinangag and itlog – TapSiLog. Interesting huh?

Oh and they have a facebook page – Let’s rally to get them to deliver!!!

If you’re like me and you love the play of rich spices in your mouth, then this thai restaurant is a must visit for you.  Its an old house, probably from the 80′s, turned Thai restaurant.

Its priced ok considering the size of the serving and you can smell, feel, and taste the authenticity.  I kept picturing a little old thai chef still working his magic in his kitchen.

We ordered the following: (And it was a mouthful!)

• Pad Thai – amazing!  I just love the symphony of simple flavors rolled into one timeless dish.
• Thai Spring Rolls – I just had to order this – its like lumpiang shanghai, which is in my top 10 favorites.
• Red Curry – ah yes, Migs ordered this and he knows his Thai food.. Thai-ina lupit mo Migs!
• Shrimp cakes – yes yes.. munchies!
• Spicy Chicke Rice – I dare you to finish this!!!  My friend Lui gave me the permission to post his pics here – as you can see, he went for it and accepted the challenge (he really likes it spicy anyway).  When the spicy rice arrived, he immediately mixed it all up – you can see the chilli oil covering each and every grain of rice… amazing!  I tried a bit of it and for me.. it tasted like sili with rice.  Not rice with sili.. the other way around, sili (as in pinoy red na sili) with rice! Hahahahaha… I would love to hear your stories about this.  Go ahead.. try it.

Anyway, one day I was walking along VA Rufino st and I took the underpass… all of sudden, there it was – a ray of light was shining on the sign and it said… Bun on the run.  Right beside this shoe store for women.  It was amazing because this truly reminded me of childhood.  Without further delay.. ladies and gentlemen.. I bring you.. the Chori Burger!!!!  Double Chori Burger only at Php 105.  NOT BAD!

Its a bit more pricey now but if it brings you back a decade or so.. why not.
