So Forever 21 at SM makati is now open. It’s not a surprise that the wifey would like to spend a day shopping there. So that means I’m free to explore.

First thing I did with all this free time? Check out the foodcourt what else. In fairness, SM foodcourt is now more diverse, there’s japanese, korean, vietnamese and thai food stalls.

I tried out the Sen Lek Thai food stall and ordered the pad thai. Good size serving for just 90 pesos. Wowow! Masarap sya ah.

If you’re like me and you love the play of rich spices in your mouth, then this thai restaurant is a must visit for you.  Its an old house, probably from the 80′s, turned Thai restaurant.

Its priced ok considering the size of the serving and you can smell, feel, and taste the authenticity.  I kept picturing a little old thai chef still working his magic in his kitchen.

We ordered the following: (And it was a mouthful!)

• Pad Thai – amazing!  I just love the symphony of simple flavors rolled into one timeless dish.
• Thai Spring Rolls – I just had to order this – its like lumpiang shanghai, which is in my top 10 favorites.
• Red Curry – ah yes, Migs ordered this and he knows his Thai food.. Thai-ina lupit mo Migs!
• Shrimp cakes – yes yes.. munchies!
• Spicy Chicke Rice – I dare you to finish this!!!  My friend Lui gave me the permission to post his pics here – as you can see, he went for it and accepted the challenge (he really likes it spicy anyway).  When the spicy rice arrived, he immediately mixed it all up – you can see the chilli oil covering each and every grain of rice… amazing!  I tried a bit of it and for me.. it tasted like sili with rice.  Not rice with sili.. the other way around, sili (as in pinoy red na sili) with rice! Hahahahaha… I would love to hear your stories about this.  Go ahead.. try it.
